According to the AISE news agency, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani will represent the Italian government at the official commemoration of the 82nd anniversary of the Sant'Anna di Stazzema massacre on August 12th at 10:00 AM (Italian time). The ceremony will take place in the Sant'Anna National Peace Park in Tuscany. Tajani will speak at the Ossuary Monument, where wreaths will be laid in memory of the victims.
On August 12, 1944, Nazi troops, with the support of Fascist collaborators, killed 560 people in Sant'Anna di Stazzema, then a refuge for civilians displaced by the war. Most of the victims were women, the elderly, and children. The village was also burned down.
