According to La Nazione, the Arezzo police force carried out an extraordinary territorial control operation on July 6th in Arezzo, Montevarchi, and other municipalities in the province. The operation involved teams from the State Police, Railway Police, Carabinieri, and Local Police, concentrated in the city center, the train station, and areas with a higher incidence of urban decay. 174 people were identified, of whom 95 were non-EU citizens, and 29 had prior police records. Ten vehicles were also checked, and eight commercial establishments were inspected.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a Pakistani citizen with an outstanding warrant issued by the judicial authority, relating to two convictions: one from 2022 for theft, and another from 2024 for violating Italian immigration law. These actions are part of a plan by the Arezzo police force to reinforce police presence in vulnerable areas and combat crimes such as robbery and drug trafficking.
