According to the newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Nvidia has reached an agreement with six of the world's largest financial groups—Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR—to mobilize up to $500 billion for the construction of artificial intelligence infrastructure. This amount does not represent an immediate investment or a one-time fund; it is the total that the financial platforms intend to raise over time from external investors, such as pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and large private assets.
The mechanism is the same one used to finance roads, airports, and energy grids: each project receives capital from investors and supplements it with bank debt or private credit. The novelty lies in the asset being financed: processing power for AI.
