According to the newspaper Il Tempo, five people are under investigation for the collapse of the central part of the Bolzano Courthouse, which occurred on July 16. The Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an inquiry for negligent disaster and appointed two magistrates to lead the case. The suspects voluntarily handed over documents related to the building's construction.
Following an inspection by the responsible technical expert, the Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the seizure of the central part of the building where the collapse occurred. The expert's task is to identify risks of further collapses and indicate immediate measures to be taken, as well as to delimit the areas to be kept under seizure until the conclusion of the expert analyses on the causes, which are expected after the removal of the rubble.
