Ferragosto, celebrated on August 15th, is the main summer holiday in Italy. The date has ancient origins and marks the peak of the warm season. In Rome, gastronomic tradition is an inseparable part of the festivities: typical local dishes are enjoyed with family or friends, outdoors or at home, regardless of the heat. The expression used by the portal, "se magna lo stesso" ("it's eaten the same way," in Romanesco, the local dialect), perfectly summarizes the spirit of the day in the city.
