The film "Azambuja: Italian Immigration in the South of Santa Catarina”, which premiered in December,shows the original stories of the Italians who arrived in the imperial colony of Azambuja, in 1877, today the municipality of Big Stones.
Lasting 82 minutes, the documentary was directed byGenuine Joshua and featured only local actors.
Azambuja mixes testimonials with dramatized scenes in settings such as the Tubarão Railway Museum and the Open Air Museum in Orleans.
There were nine municipalities that served as the setting for the production, and which should now become a route for exhibition.
The producers are still looking for a streaming platform to show the film.

The film “Azambuja: Italian Immigration in the South of Santa Catarina” is dedicated toNicola Gava, who was engaged with the cultural life of new venice, and was Secretary of Culture in the municipality.
He was one of the creators of the documentary and participated in the beginning of the recordings, but he died in June of this year, due to the consequences of COVID-19.
Production must be shown in Italy
Still in the Italian dubbing phase, the producers are working to show the film in Italy in April.
The objective is to be part of the inauguration agenda of the National Museum of Emigration Italian, in Genoa.
