The 8th History Festival (fHist), held in Belo Horizonte, ended this Saturday (28) its special edition dedicated to 150 years of Italian immigration in Brazil.
For three days, the event promoted debates, tributes and a rich cultural and gastronomic program, which brought together Minas Gerais brands with a little touch of Italy.
Highlights included round tables on the influence of Italians on the construction of Belo Horizonte and coffee production in Minas Gerais, Italian language workshops, cooking demonstrations with renowned chefs such as Giuseppe and Massimo Buschini, and musical performances, including a show by the group Long live Naples at closing.
“Our balance is very positive”, he assessed Americo Antunes, creator of the festival, who highlighted how the event reinforced the understanding of the Italian influence in the formation of Minas Gerais and Brazilian culture, from the 19th century to the present day.
