A water supply failure in the small town of Settecani, on the outskirts of Castelvetro, Italy, has resulted in residents finding red wine when they turn on their taps at home. Residents took to social media to report the incident on Wednesday, the 4th.
According to the Italian news agency Ansa, the problem occurred after an accidental failure of a valve in a drink reservoir, which caused Lambrusco Grasparossa wine to leak from the winery into the pipes serving the Italians' residence. “A Lambrusco bottling process was underway, but there was a problem with a tap, connected to the aqueduct, which is usually used to let water into the container for washing,” said Fabio Franceschini, mayor of Castelvetro.

Due to the valve failure, the wine leaked into the pipe that distributes water to the city's residents. According to a statement from the city hall published on Facebook, the problem has been resolved and there are no more failures in the supply network. “I think the citizens laughed a lot at the situation. It’s certainly not something that happens every day,” said Franceschini.
