Meeting will be attended by an ambassador who will address the Italian academic system
The Italian embassy in Brasilia will hold an event on Wednesday the 15th to clarify doubts and provide guidance to those interested in studying in Italy.
Called “Studying in Italy”, the meeting will be attended by Ambassador Antonio Bernardini and will address topics such as the format of the Italian academic system, scholarships offered by the government, administrative procedures and the issuance of student visas.
Since the founding of the first university in Bologna, in 1088, Italy has contributed decisively to the development of knowledge in the areas of applied sciences thanks to the genius of scientists such as Leonardo da Vinci and Galileo Galilei, founders of the scientific method.
Successively, as the language of industrialization spread, Guglielmo Marconi created the foundations for modern wireless communication, inventing the first practical wireless telegraphy system. More recently, in a world more aware of the importance played by computer language, Italy stood out by developing the first computer that went on sale, known as the P101. A few years later, physicist Federico Faggin invented the first microprocessor.
Italy is also well-known in the language of physics thanks to personalities such as Fabiola Giannotti, responsible for the recent discovery of the Higgs Boson, and in neuroscience, with the discovery of mirror neurons by neurophysiologist Giacomo Rizzolati.
Currently, Italy has 61 public universities, 30 private universities and 11 public research entities, in addition to cutting-edge undergraduate courses, AFAM institutions (High Artistic, Musical and Choreutical Training) and 339 courses taught in English.
