Galliano was born on March 12, 1926 in the city of Panicale, in the region of Umbria, province of Perugia, the Italy. Son of Nello Billi and Zaira Romanini, he was the only one of five siblings to attend college. Graduated in Chemistry at the college of BolognaIn 1953.
It was during his time at university that he met the colleague who would become his wife, Maria Teresa Caselli Billi. In 1957, they got married in Italy and, shortly afterwards, came to Brazil in search of better opportunities. Here they had their three children, Maurizio, Mauro e malvia.

In the following years, the Italian immigrant acquired and renovated used machines, often the result of mining in city scrapyards. Thus was born Billi Farmacêutica, the first company of the Eurofarma Group.
In these early years, the company used Galliano Billi's experience in medicine branch, to offer production services to other companies. It was a completely innovative activity for the sector, which ended up giving rise to the concept of outsourcing.
Company growth
From that moment on, the company began to grow and acquired companies and products, which ended up joining the business group. With the diversification of its activities, the company began to enter the main segments of pharmaceutical, demonstrating its vocation to be great and recognized in the field.
In the 1990s, the group began to adopt the Eurofarma “umbrella” brand, which encompassed all of the company’s activities. Despite the adversities, the company founded by Galliano Billi never deviated from its ethical values, which had as its guiding principle the desire to grow by sharing gains with employees and society.
In the early 2000s, Galliano Billi stepped down from the company's leadership due to health problems, giving way to his son, Maurizio Billi, who had joined the company in 1977.
Love for the company
However, even though he did not perform executive functions, Galliano never left the business and was present at the company practically every day. He supported decisions and kept the roots alive and the entrepreneurial and avant-garde spirit that marked the activities of the Eurofarma Group throughout its trajectory.
In turn, as main executive and reference shareholder, it was up to Maurizio Billi to lead the teams to maintain the growth trajectory, consolidate Eurofarma's position in Brazil and start the internationalization the company.
Eurofarma appeared for 10 years, since the 2000s, in the ranking of “Best Companies to Work For”, by Exame Você S/A Magazine, and, in 2014, entered the ranking “GPTW season (Great Place to Work)”.
In 2020, the company ranked 37th overall among the best companies to work for by GPTW. Internationally, he won the title of best pharmacist to work in Central America, according to the GPTW 2020 ranking of Central America and the Caribbean.
Eurofarma and sustainability

It occupies a prominent position in the main pharmaceutical segments: Medical Prescription, Non-Prescription Medicines, Generics, Hospital, Tenders, Oncology, Third Party Services and Veterinary.

This year, according to Exame magazine, the Eurofarma donated R$39 million to combat the covid-19 pandemic that devastated the world and left a negative balance of more than 600 thousand deaths in Brazil. According to the magazine, the fortune of Maurizio Billi, current president of the company and son of Galliano, is valued at 1,4 billion dollars – Around R$ 7,86 billion.
