A portion of pasta is more beneficial to the animal compared to popular brands of food, says veterinarian
A beautiful folder from nonna on Sunday and the question arises: can the house mascot eat a little?
According to experts, pasta is not harmful to dogs, as long as they are fed in moderation, and that it is not the food everyday.
For veterinarian Ricardo Fehr Camargo, if the animal is not allergic to wheat or grains, or is not overweight, pasta can be an important source of food, but it is not ideal. “Dogs don’t need carbohydrates. Although today they classify them as omnivores, internally they are more carnivorous,” he explains.
Made mainly from flour and water, or eggs, ingredients that are not harmful to animals, the concern should be in preparing the food. “The important thing is not to have onions or garlic. Not to be seasoned like human food. Before serving to the family, with your preferred sauce, you should separate some of the pasta and in the portion that will be offered to the animal you can add broccoli, eggs, sardines, pumpkin, liver and chicken gizzards, always varying to meet the need. of nutrients in the animal’s diet”, says the veterinarian.
Another tip is to replace traditional pasta with wholemeal pasta, which has more dietary fiber and a greater amount of vitamins and minerals than refined wheat flour pasta.
For him, pasta ends up being more advantageous compared to commercial feed brands available. “If you compare pasta prepared at home with the low-quality feed offered on the market, pasta is definitely healthier. These feeds contain ingredients of dubious quality”, concludes Camargo.
Golden retriever conquers the world by devouring two plates of pasta
That Italian food has already won over people from practically every corner of the world is nothing new to anyone.
Now, in addition to humans, it is also becoming a success among animals.
See how this dog reacts to one (or rather, two) plate of pasta. The video has already been seen by millions of people.
