Italian Embassy wraps up Italian immigration celebrations with documentary

Documentary celebrates 150 years of Italian immigration, highlighting the cultural heritage and impact of Italianness on Brazilian society.

Closing the celebrations of “150 years of Italian immigration in Brazil”, the Embassy of Italy presented to the public a documentary and a book that highlight the cultural richness and historical legacy left by Italians in the country.

with duration of 52 minutes, the documentary — available on YouTube — offers a sensitive and impactful portrait of Italian immigration in Brazil. Through interviews with prominent figures such as the designer Humberto Campana, the philosopher Mario Sergio Cortella, the businessman and president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce Graziano Messana, the historian Henry Trindade and the lawyer Flavio Goldman, the documentary explores the impact of Italianness on the Brazilian artistic, political, cultural and economic scene.

under the direction of Pedro Saad, the project was carried out by the Brazilian Publisher and Producer of São Paulo, with sponsorship from the association Italy for San Paolo, chaired by Sandra Papaiz and Graziano Messana, in addition to the support of important names in the Italian-Brazilian community, such as Sergio Comolatti, Massimo Bauducco and the Itaú Foundation.

The essence of Italian culture in Brazil

The documentary impresses by delicately and in-depthly addressing the influence of Italian immigration in Brazil. From gastronomy to architecture, the work reveals how Italians shaped the country's cultural identity.
