All identity documents in Italy that expired on or after March 17, 2020 are valid until August 31, 2020.
The information is available on the State Police, and are part of the Legge decree no. 18 March 17, 2020, issued by the Italian government to deal with the Covid-19 emergency, which affected the deadlines for administrative services in Italy and at consulates.
The extension also applies to those who have passport Italian expired on March 17th. They are valid until August 31, 2020.
No case of Brazilians living in Italy – including for those who are in the process of recognizing the Italian citizenship – or circulate through a country in the European Union, the “residence permit” (residence permit) that expires between January 31 and April 15, 2020, remain valid until June 15, 2020. The renewal application can be submitted after June 15, 2020.
The information has not yet been made available by the Italian Embassy in Brazil, or by their respective consulates.
