From Rome to Milan: a new, even faster train

A new record-breaking high-speed train connects the cities of Milan and Rome: Trenitalia's announcement and available timetables.

Travel from Milan  all with Rome Now it's even easier and, above all, faster. This Monday (23) the new high-speed connection between the train stations was inaugurated. Roma Tiburtina e Milan Rogoredo, which allows you to travel from the capital to the Lombard capital, with Frecciarossa da Trenitalia, in just 2 hours and 45 minutes – before it was 3 hours and 10 minutes.

The distance between Rome and Milan is 622 kilometers, using the A1 and E35 routes. By car the travel time is approximately 6 hours 40 minutes.

The new connection does not stop at Roma Termini and Milano Centrale stations – elected one of the best 10 stations in Europe.

However, Trenitalia took care to inform passengers that from Tiburtina and Rogoredo, thanks to other modes of transport, such as the metro or urban train, it is possible to quickly reach the center and tourist sites, thanks to the “integration and intermodality and less congestion at 'headquarters' stations, also benefiting from greater service regularity”.

Os schedules of the new high-speed link between Rome and Milan are:

  • Frecciarossa 9682 Roma Tiburtina 5.30 arriving in Milan Rogoredo at 8.15
  • Frecciarossa 9681 Milano Rogoredo 20.44 arriving at Roma Tiburtina at 23.29
