Liliana Cavani's new film premieres in Brazil on June 13

The film “The Order of Time”, by the Italian filmmaker Liliana Cavani, will arrive exclusively in Brazilian cinemas on June 13th, with distribution from pandora movies.

The work is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Carlo Rovelli, theoretical physicist and specialist in the study of quantum gravity, which presents a new interpretation of the mysteries of time.

The film tells the story of a group of friends who meet every year to celebrate a birthday. This time, the meeting celebrates the birthday of Elsa, played by actress Claudia Gerini, who celebrates her 50th birthday.

However, Enrico, played by Edoardo Leo, does not bring good news, which weighs on the atmosphere of the party. Apparently, an asteroid, called Anaconda, is heading towards Earth, and could have the same exterminating effect on humanity that, in the past, another asteroid had on dinosaurs.

In addition to Gerini and Leo, the film features Alessandro Gassmann, Fabrizio Rongione and Angela Molina in the cast and is produced by Cavani, who, at 91 years old, belongs to a brilliant generation of Italian filmmakers who stood out in the 1970s, among them Bernardo Bertolucci, Lina Wertmüller, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Marco Bellocchio.

According to the Italian, when she read Rovelli's book she felt the need to transform the physics work into a fiction feature.
“When I get so absorbed in reading something, and I feel emotions come up, I want to convey them to my audience and I usually decide to make a film about it.
