The actress Milena Vukotic will be honored for her career during the 69th edition of one of the biggest Italian cinema awards, “David di Donatello”, on May 3rd, the event organizers announced this Wednesday (10).
At 88 years old, the Italian actress will receive the statuette for her lifetime achievement “thanks to her unique talent”. “Milena Vukotic has lived through 60 years of cinema, theater and television history in Italy with grace and irony,” the official statement said.
Considered an actress of great elegance, Vukotic was “the protagonist of interpretations rich in poetry and intelligence that fascinated many great filmmakers”, including Federico Fellini, Luis Buñuel and Andrei Tarkovsky.
The Italian became known for starring in “Pina”, in the Fantozzi comedy film series, starring the late Paolo Villaggio, for which she won the Nastro d'Argento for best supporting actress for her role.
In theater, she worked in prestigious productions with directors such as Franco Zeffirelli, Giorgio Strehler, Paolo Poli and Jean Cocteau. Over the years, Vukotic received three “David di Donatello” nominations for best supporting actress (1983, 1991 and 2014). (HANDLE).
