The Italian Consulate in São Paulo and the Italian Cultural Institute of São Paulo have decided to bring the Italian-Palestinian singer. Laila Al Habash to represent Italy in the Italian National Day, celebrated on June 2nd.

The first show takes place this Sunday (28), in São Paulo, at Cultural turn.

Laila Al Habash He also performs in Santos, Jundiaí and Campinas, with his band composed of Danila Guglielmi, Matilde Ferrari and Luca Zaliani.

The tour is part of “A Caminho do Interior” project, promoted by Consulate General of Italy and by Italian Institute of Culture of São Paulo, with the goal of bringing Italian music and culture to audiences in the interior of the State of São Paulo.

Laila Al Habash's tour in Brazil is part of the mission of the Italian Institute of Culture, to introduce the Italian community and the local community to contemporary Italian culture, without losing sight of tradition, which is part of the ties that unite the millions of Italian descendants in the country.

The consul Domenico Fornara He justified the choice by stating that São Paulo is a place "particularly receptive to Italian culture" and that Al Habash will be an "excellent ambassador of Italian music during the week of the Italian Republic Day celebrations."

Mix of influences

Roman of Palestinian origin, born in 1998, Laila Al Habash grew up with the myth of Raffaella Carra and Mina as inspiration, both stylistically and musically, references that she mixes in her songs with more contemporary influences, such as Kali Uchis, Baustelle and Devendra Banhart.

In 2019 she released “Come quella Volta”, “Zattera” and “Bluetooth”, songs included in the soundtrack of “Summertime”, an Italian Netflix series that reached the top of the Netflix global charts.

She moved to Milan in 2020, while releasing “Rosè”, a song with precise and brilliant disco beats and R'n'B, composed in partnership with the Swiss artist Tatum Rush. In 2021 he joined the record label Unundation, releasing the EP “Moquette", with a raw and engaging sound, which serves as a backdrop for a flow of sweet and sincere words.

Debut album

After August 2021, she announced the release of her first official album, “Mystic Motel”, a 12-track journey inside the head of the young Italian-Palestinian artist, from which all her talent and personality emerge.

She has participated in more than 30 summer festivals in the last two years, in addition to having performed in Italian private clubs.
