Issuance of the codice fiscale: restrictions for non-Italian citizens
In an official statement, the consulate announced that it will no longer issue the fiscal Code – Italian equivalent of the Brazilian CPF – for people who do not yet have the Italian citizenship recognized.
Issuance is restricted to the following categories:
- Students, interns, self-employed or salaried workers who will settle in Italy;
- Visa applicants for any reason;
- Retirees who need the code for social security processes;
- People involved in notarial procedures.
O fiscal Code, managed by the Agenzia delle Entrate, is a tax identification number essential for various activities in Italy. At the consulate, the application and issuance follow different procedures for recognized Italian citizens and those who do not yet have the Italian citizenship.
New Honorary Vice-Consul in Ribeirão Preto
The Consul General Domenico Fornara received the new Honorary Vice-Consul of Ribeirão Preto, Lorenzo Spedicato, at the Italian Consulate in São Paulo. The appointment celebrates the historic connection between Italy and the region, one of the largest in terms of the number of Italian descendants in the state of São Paulo.
The announcement generated a positive response, including congratulations from MP Fabio Porta, who commented: “Congratulations! Finally…”.
About the appointment of the vice-consulate of Santos, the Consul General himself responded to a follower: “The process is underway. It won’t take long.”
Farewell to Deputy Consul Livia Satullo
After four years of working in Brazil, the Deputy Consul Livia Satullo return to Rome. During his mission, he played a key role in the administration of one of the largest Italian consular structures in the world.

Tribute to Vincenzo Spedicato: Order of the Star of Italy
In a recent ceremony, Consul General Domenico Fornara presented Vincenzo Spedicato, Honorary Vice-Consul in Ribeirão Preto, with the Ordine della Stella d'Italia, one of the highest Italian decorations, awarded by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
The honor recognizes Spedicato’s 18 years of dedication as Honorary Vice-Consul in Ribeirão Preto, a period in which he strengthened ties between Italy and the region. His work was highlighted as a pillar in cultural integration and support for the local Italian-Brazilian community.
