The Consulate General of Italy in São Paulo has launched a new institutional agenda aimed at fostering closer ties with... The first visit in the series took place last Tuesday, December 2nd, at the headquarters of Food Castle, in Jundiaí, in the interior of São Paulo state. The Deputy Consul Marianna Haddad She was received by the company's CEO, Marcelo Cereser, and toured the factory facilities and learned about the history of the brand, which will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2025.
“We feel very honored to be remembered as an industry of Italian origin and to receive the visit of the Deputy Consul, who aims to bring the Consulate General of Italy in São Paulo closer to the cities in the interior. We always seek to honor our roots and value our history. Many of our company's equipment is Italian, as well as many supplies that we buy directly from Italy. We have a very close relationship with that country,” said Cereser.
Recognition of Italian heritage
This action is part of an effort by the consulate to strengthen ties with the Italian community outside the capital, especially in the interior of São Paulo state, where there is a strong presence of descendants. According to the consul, the visits aim to highlight companies that maintain links with Italy, whether through history, culture, or commercial relations.
“It is a great honor to meet this wonderful company, made up, above all, of people. It is a source of pride to know about the Italian roots in this great undertaking,” declared Marianna Haddad during the meeting.
Culture and business
In addition to being the largest vinegar producer in Latin America, Castelo Alimentos maintains a direct connection with Italian culture. The company was a sponsor of the film. Today, the company has over 150 products in its portfolio, including vinegars, olive oils, sauces, and preserves. It also imports raw materials and equipment from Italy, maintaining an active commercial relationship with the country.
The schedule of visits is expected to continue in other inland cities in the coming months. The consulate intends to expand its recognition to companies that represent the Italian contribution to the economic and social development of Brazil.
