A competition to launch a new type of folder on the market. The initiative is promoted by Barilla, the largest food company in Italy and one of the largest in the world.
The multinational seeks innovative products made with alternative raw materials to those traditionally used, that is, durum wheat or whole wheat.
A summons “Barilla New Pasta Shape" was published on the website of Desall.com and will be closed in June 4.
Everyone (adults of all nationalities) can participate by creating a new dry pasta product that should revolutionize aesthetics, functionality and gastronomy and not just present a new format.
As raw material, for example, it is possible to use farro, buckwheat, legume flour, corn or rice.
“The proposed pasta shape must interact in a functional way, mixing, containing or holding the sauce to create a polychromatic effect and provide a satisfying gastronomic experience,” says the competition announcement.
For short pasta, a length of 45 +/- 15 mm and a diameter of 15 +/- 5 mm is permitted. For long pasta, a length of 200-300 mm.
The winner of the new type of folder will be announced in July and will receive 4 thousand euros – around R$28 thousand.
Projects uploaded online – with text in English, as the competition is open to participants of all nationalities – must be accompanied by images, preferably renderings 3D or prototypes.
