Celebrating 150 years of immigration, Festitália livens up Blumenau in June

The city of Blumenau, known for its Germanic traditions, turns its attention to Italian culture in June. The 30th edition of Festitália takes place from June 12 to 22 at Parque Vila Germânica, in celebration of the 150 years of Italian immigration in Santa Catarina.

Organized by the cultural association Italian Lyre CircoloThe event brings together folkloric performances, typical cuisine, a new Italian music festival, and the traditional parade on Rua XV de Novembro.

The organization expects around 50 people to attend the festival during the nine days of programming.

Dates, times and tickets

Festitália will be divided into two periods: from June 12 to 15 and from June 18 to 22. On weekdays, the event takes place from 19 pm to midnight. On Saturdays and holidays, from 24 am to midnight. Sundays, from 11 am to 24 pm.

Tickets cost R$20 in advance on the website and R$25 at the box office. Half-price tickets are available and admission is free on weekends until 18pm. Tickets for the VIP area, which includes a special gastronomic service, vary in price.

Gastronomy in the spotlight

Two pavilions will be dedicated to cuisine. Ristorante Casa di Sapori will operate as a buffet, with dishes such as risotto, pasta, chicken and polenta with meat. In Pavilion 1, the public will find 22 food outlets, with fast food, wines, desserts and the popular “Xis Polenta”.

On Valentine's Day, the restaurant will only accept reservations. On other days, service will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cultural presentations and Masked Night

The program includes choirs, dances, Italian bands and the national show “Felice Itália e os 3 Tenores Brasileiros”. On the 19th, there will be the Night of Masks, in homage to the Venetian carnival.

The traditional parade will take place on Saturday, June 14, at 16 pm, on XV de Novembro Street. Around 20 municipalities with Italian roots will participate. Floats and performances will tell the story of immigration.

Italian Music Festival

On the last day of the festival, June 22nd, the 1st Cantiamo L'Italia Festival. Aimed at new talents, the competition will be divided into lyrical, popular and folkloric categories. The performances will be in Pavilion 1, from 14 pm to 17 pm, with cash prizes.

Family Meeting and Children's Space

On Sunday, June 15, families with Italian origins will be able to meet in a reserved space, upon registration with the Italian Lyre Circolo. Tributes and processions are planned in the park.

For children, the party offers a kids' area with toys and monitors. The space, with approximately 900 m², will operate full time in Pavilion 1, with an entrance fee.
