To reduce the number of backlogged applications, the Italian Ministry of the Interior authorized the issuance of the electronic Identity Card (CIE-electronic identity letter) at postal offices, Poste, throughout Italy.
Previously, requests were only possible at communes (town halls). The management has already been approved in the Government budget.
It remains to be seen whether scheduling will continue to be mandatory. The idea is to simplify.
