The Legislative Chamber of the Federal District will hold, this Monday (12), at 19pm, a ceremony in honor of the 150 years of Italian immigration in Brazil. The event, authored by deputy Paula Belmonte (Citizenship), honors Italian-Brazilian and foreign personalities who live in the DF and influence the city's economy, gastronomy and artistic production.
According to the parliamentarian, the initiative recognizes the Italian contribution to the cultural plurality of the region. “Italian immigration played a fundamental role in the history of Brasília, leaving a lasting legacy that goes beyond the physical structures of the city, also influencing its cultural and social identity”, emphasizes Paula Belmonte.
The journalist and filmmaker Sergio Moriconi, the actress Juliana Zancanaro and the singer Luisa Francesconi are some of those honored.
The ceremony also honors Alessandro Cortese, Italian ambassador to Brazil, judge Leila Arlanch and Frederico Tojal Cianni, president of the Committees of Italians Abroad (Committees-DF).
