Lisbon will be the first city outside of Brazil to issue the new National Identity Card. (CIN)The launch takes place. this Thursday, April 16that 11:00 AM, with the presence of the Minister of Management and Innovation, Esther Dweck.
The feature will allow Brazilian citizens abroad to access more than four thousand digital services. Among them are electronic signatures, issuance of certificates, electoral services, vaccination, criminal records, and tax regularization.
The project is in the testing phase. From this date, the service will be available to Brazilian citizens in the Portuguese capital.
How to request the service
To obtain the new identity, the Brazilian community in the Lisbon jurisdiction must access the e-Consular systemNext, the user will be redirected to the Federal District Civil Police system.
After submitting the documentation, an appointment will be scheduled for biometric data collection. The service will be provided at the consulate, using equipment already installed. Guidance will be available via telephone throughout the process.
Purpose of the initiative

Project expansion
The initiative is part of Itamaraty's Digital Transformation Plan. In May, the Brazilian Consulate General in Asunción, Paraguay, will be the second post abroad to adopt the functionality.
There is still no scheduled date for implementation in other countries, such as Italy and United States.
Lisbon has previously been chosen for the launch of Brazilian services abroad. In April 2024, the city hosted the launch of the new passport model. The choice was due to the high volume of services provided and the experience of the local team.
