A Juventus announced one of its main sports bets for the next season: Thiago Motta will be the club's new technical commander. The former player and now coach, who has had an upward trajectory in European football, arrives at Juventus with high expectations after a remarkable performance last season.

The rise of Thiago Motta

Motta gained prominence by taking the Bologna to the European Champions League for the first time in almost six decades, a feat that enhanced his career as a coach. He replaces Massimiliano Allegri, who was fired after a conflict with journalists.

“I am very happy to start this new experience at the helm of a great club like Juventus. I thank the owners and the board, and I assure my ambition to keep Juventus' colors high and bring joy to the fans”, declared Motta in his official presentation.

Thiago Motta's career

Juventus is the fourth professional team that Motta has managed in his career as a coach. He started at Paris Saint-Germain, passed through Genoa, Spezia and arrived at Bologna in 2022. Under his leadership, Bologna finished fifth in the 2023/24 Italian Championship, securing a place in the 2024/25 Champions League.
