Bill Gates, with its hotel brand Four Seasons, bought the history Danieli, the oldest hotel in Venice.
The company headed by Bill Gates and the prince Al Waleed bin Talal, founded in Canada sixty years ago, already has more than 100 luxury hotels and resorts in 47 countries.
The purchase of Hotel Danieli does not come alone: Gates' company also recently acquired the San Domenico, in Taormina, and recently reopened – after a long renovation operation makeover - Or Milan's Four Seasons.
Bill Gates invests in the lagoon
The Danieli Hotel is currently managed by the North American group Marriott, which will continue to be present in Venice with six hotels, including the Gritti and The St Regis Venice.
The Four Seasons company has already separated around 30 million euros for restructuring works of Danieli, which according to local consultants will reach a final value exceeding 500 million euros. Money is no problem for the Microsoft founder.

The new Hotel Danieli will be ready in 2024 and will have up to 200 rooms.

Located in the immediate vicinity of St. Mark's Square, is made up of three buildings: Palazzo Dandolo, from the 14th century, Palazzo Casa Nuova, from the 20th century, and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, the last to be built, in 1948.
The historic Palazzo Dandolo, already described at the end of the 15th century as “the noblest palace in Venice”, it was acquired in 1822 by Giuseppe Dal Niel, who transformed it into a large hotel which he named Danieli.
Danieli's history is full of famous guests. The following passed by: writer Goethe, composer Wagner, Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg, and appears in three 007 films, and was also the location of the film 'The Tourist', with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp.
