Italian actress Maria Rosaria Omaggio died this Monday (1st), aged 67, in Rome, where he had lived for years, after a long illness.
“Dear Maria Rosaria.
You left us. You have started your new journey towards the spirituality you loved so much. You were a loving, enlightening, present friend. A beautiful and cultured woman”, announced her Instagram profile.
Born in Naples in 1957, the artist became popular at a very young age, at the age of 17, after participating in an edition of the Italian musical variety program “Canzonissima”, in 1973/74, by Pippo Baudo.
Throughout her career, she acted in dozens of films, such as "Roma a mano armata" and "Squadra antiscippo," alongside Maurizio Merli and Tomas Milian, as well as in plays, TV series, and also wrote books, directed plays, and operas.
The Supreme Court reaffirmed: citizenship is born with the person.

For her performance as “Oriana Fallaci”, in the film “Walesa”, subtitled “The Man of Hope”, by Polish director Andrzej Wajda, the Italian received the Pasinetti Prize at the Venice Film Festival.
Additionally, she was a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador for almost 20 years. “It is with great pain and consternation that we learn of the death of Maria Rosaria Omaggio, our Goodwill Ambassador for almost 20 years”, says a note from the organization, highlighting “her great humanity and infinite energy”.
