The cities in Italy with the most births
More information also emerges from the analysis of statistics from the Istat 2020, Italy's official research body. Only in 11 provinces of Italy (out of 107) there was one increase in births compared to the previous year.
The specific ranking dedicated to the Italian cities where the most births are registered places Bolzano in first place (1,69 children per woman), ahead of Gorizia (1,42 children per woman).
Birth data could also explain why Trieste is no longer the oldest city in Italy.
The capital of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in fact, is in contrast to the rest of Italy: here the number of births compared to the previous year is increasing.
Cities in Italy with the most centenarians
Despite having lost first place in the ranking of the oldest cities in Italy, Trieste registers primacy in another special ranking, that is, the one dedicated to the cities in Italy where the oldest people live. centenarians.
The capital of Friuli Venezia Giulia recorded the figure of 4,58 centenarians per 100 thousand inhabitants.
The second Italian province in the ranking is Isernia (4,54 centenarians per 100 thousand inhabitants), while on the lowest step of the podium is Genova (4,27 centenarians per 100 thousand inhabitants).
