It even looks like a movie script. After 30 years of searching, a man finds his biological mother with the help of a “good hacker”.
The story is real and was revealed this Wednesday (11) during a video call. Between tears and smiles, the maid Maria Liete Lopes, 57 years old, and son John Barone, 31, met virtually after 30 years.
How it all began
A friend of Giovanni, Brazilian Carla dos Santos, 42 years old, who lives in Nápoles, had been trying for 18 years to help him find his family who lives in Brazil.
She made a comment on Facebook about a report that told the story of a baby kidnapped in São Paulo and sold on the illegal adoption market to a French family. The young woman fulfilled her dream of finding her biological family.
No case of Giovanni, the outcome had the help of a software engineer, who works in cybersecurity, and who asked not to be identified. He used techniques of data searches to locate Giovanni's mother and sister.
“There are a lot of people who work with data protection to help people, I'm the 'good hacker'. With little information, I used technology and cyber data search to find Giovanni's biological relatives and bingo!”, celebrated the engineer.
For Carla, it was God who put this 'good hacker' on her path. “I passed on Giovanni's information, everything we had, and the next day we were already at an emotional meeting between mother and son in a virtual meeting. The adoptive mother thanked the biological mother for giving Giovanni as a gift”, revealed Carla.
To the portal Metropolis, the biological mother of Giovanni said that he was very poor at the time and was unable to take care of his son.
“I worked in a house in Minas Gerais where the boss didn’t accept my son. I didn't have a house, my daughter lived with my mother. I gave my son up for adoption when he was 5 days old. It hurts a lot. I want his forgiveness”, revealed Maria, who works as a maid in a house in the north of Rio.
But for Giovanni, the reunion represented a dream come true. “The moment we look each other in the eye there is no need for forgiveness. I made a dream come true”, said he, who does not speak Portuguese. Father of a 1-year-old girl, Giovanni says that as soon as he can he wants to meet his mother, sister and three nephews in Brazil.
In Italy, he works as a security guard. He got married just over two years ago and mourns the death of his father, Antonio, a few years ago.
The video conference also included the participation of Giovanni's sister, Patrícia, who lives in Minas Gerais, his adoptive mother Concetta and her friend Carla, as well as the software engineer, in Brazil, called by the group the “good hacker”, responsible for locate the Brazilian family.
