The two international airports of Rome, the capital of Italy, Fiumicino and Ciampino, have been declared the best in Europe in 2024, for the eighth and second consecutive years, in the categories of more than 40 million passengers and between two and five million travelers, respectively.
The “Airport Service Quality” (ASQ) survey, conducted by the Airports Council International in collaboration with the company Amadeus, scored Rome Fiumicino 4,61 on a maximum scale of five points, a record for the airport, which surpassed 119 major European hubs for the quality of services offered to its visitors.
As Fiumicino welcomed more than 50 million people in 2024, it was also considered the airport with the highest passenger satisfaction among all airports with traffic exceeding 25 million travelers per year in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and America.
ASQ analyzed the preferences and satisfaction rates of nearly 700 passengers at more than 360 airports worldwide across more than 30 categories of airport experience.
In addition to the award for “best European airport”, Rome Fiumicino also won in other subcategories, such as “the airport with the best staff in Europe”, “the one with the best entertainment” and the “cleanest” among those on the continent.
Roma Ciampino also won in the subcategory “the airport with the best staff in Europe” for hubs with between two and five million passengers.
“This is an important recognition, which once again testifies to the dedication, passion and commitment of the people and all the colleagues of the companies, entities and institutions that work in synergy at Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino,” said Marco Troncone, CEO of Rome Airports. (HANDLE)
