“I have been very optimistic and happy with Måneskin’s success.” The phrase is from Paulo Ricardo, from the group RPM, who decided to give his opinion on a band that, according to him, could be mainly responsible for reviving rock.
During his participation in the Venus Podcast, the composer tore silks for the italian band, which is one of the great revelations of the genre in recent years.
"They are reviving rock not strictly for the music itself. Rock is a phenomenon and remains alive because it transcends the boundaries of music," he said.
The Italian hard rock quartet has been dominating the charts and going viral on social media, especially on TikTok.
And it is through social media that young people can discover rock, according to Paulo Ricardo.
“You won’t see a rock guy in a little suit playing the guitar. You want to see the guy stick a knife on stage, dance on broken glass like Iggy Pop. Rock gives blood. There is a generation of TikTokers that is arriving and these people get to know the bands through the few seconds that the platform makes available.”
With a touch of rebellion, aggression and a lot of sensuality, the band of the moment reached first place in the Top 50 global do Spotify.
Although the name became popular recently, the band was formed in 2015 and has built an interesting trajectory since then.
But the meteoric rise actually came in May 2021, when the group won the Eurovision, The biggest music festival in the world.
O Måneskin is confirmed at Rock in Rio, on October 8th, alongside Guns N' Roses.
