One of the most traditional Italian festivals in Serra Gaucha it will be this Saturday (20). Considered the most Italian city in Brazil, Antônio Prado organizes the 40th Italian Night, at the Events Center.
The doors will open at 19pm and dinner will begin serving at 20pm.
According to the organization, the party should continue until 2:30 am. This first Saturday, two groups will entertain the public: Zo Scarpon and Os Actuais.
To ensure there is plenty of food and drink, the organization plans to serve a ton of polenta (fried and brustolated); 3,5 tons of chicken (poultry and as a chicken); 700kg of cheese; 400kg of salami; 400kg of cup and 10 thousand bottles of wine. All products on the menu will be produced in advance, respecting the maturation time of each one and prepared with a seasoning that only those from the colony know how to make.
Participants will be welcomed by the party's mascots, Nono Valentin and Nona Valentina, who represent all the families and their stories.
“It will be an opportunity to bring families together around a bountiful table, with various drinks and, of course, music. There will be no shortage of Tarantella, lively conga lines dancing… We will provide signs with fun phrases for people to take photos and record this unique moment in their lives,” assures Gabriela Pedron Ortigara, vice-president of the festival.
